The car was purchased and registered brand new in January 2012 by Cooper BMW Banstead and has remained within the same family ever since. A major service was carried out in January 2022 at 105,364 miles, including engine oil and filter, air and cabin filters, coolant renewal and replacement of both front lower control arms, addressing a known wear point on these cars. In January 2024 at 111,073 miles, it received oil and filter, brake fluid and microfilter, followed by an air conditioning re-gas in August 2024 and replacement of the nearside front door lock actuator in September 2024.

Specification is well judged, combining the SE model with the xLine package, rear parking sensors, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, 17-inch light star spoke alloys, aluminium roof rails, leather multifunction steering wheel, BMW Business audio with onboard computer, and automatic Steptronic transmission with xDrive all-wheel drive.
