Offered for sale is a truly remarkable survivor of the W210 generation—an exceptionally preserved 2000 Mercedes-Benz E240 Elegance with just 8,689 miles from new, presented in showroom condition and accompanied by a remarkable provenance.
Originally supplied by Lincoln Mercedes-Benz and sold alongside a cabriolet to Mr John Rhodes, founder of Sundown Adventureland, this E240 was purchased new as part of a two-car acquisition and used only sparingly. Mr Rhodes retained the car until his passing in 2007, by which point the vehicle had recorded a mere 5,146 miles and had just received a main dealer service. It was then stored in dry conditions for 15 years until 2021, when it was purchased from the family estate and recommissioned with the care and attention such a timewarp example deserved.
Finished in Brilliant Silver (744) with an Orion Grey cloth interior (485), the car remains entirely true to its original factory configuration. It retains its unused wheel-changing tools, the factory-supplied first aid kit, and its complete handbook pack including the service book, which documents five recorded services—most recently a major inspection carried out in June 2024 at Maxwell Greene Mercedes at 7,740 miles. Prior to this, the car benefitted from a full brake disc and pad renewal and a gearbox service at DDR Mercedes Specialist in 2023, while an extensive recommissioning was undertaken in November 2021, including all drive belts and fuel pump replacement.
It is important to note that this car has not had a single MOT advisory since 2008. The current MOT is valid until November 2025 and confirms the vehicle’s mechanical integrity as much as its cosmetic preservation. The original Lincoln Mercedes purchase invoice is also on file, underscoring the car’s documented provenance.
Designed under the direction of Bruno Sacco and penned by Steve Mattin, the W210 represented a pivotal stylistic and aerodynamic step for Mercedes-Benz. With its quad headlamp design and segment-leading drag coefficient, the E-Class of this generation offered an ideal balance of refinement, durability, and understated engineering excellence. The V6 petrol-powered E240 variant was positioned squarely within the executive segment, and examples in this condition are extraordinarily difficult to source.
This is not merely a well-kept car—it is a reference example. A genuine opportunity for the discerning collector, marque enthusiast or investor seeking one of the lowest-mileage W210s known to the market.
